FINDING the right local talent and navigating the local employment and HR systems is one of the key issues for any company moving into Belgium. In general, Belgium’s labour laws are fairly flexible.

Cross started up its activities in ’01, concentrating on the recruitment, selection and search for IT profiles for different sectors, specifically network and systems engineers. However, 9/11 and the economic consequences thereof resulted in the core business changing orientation and shifting more towards human resources consultancy.

Recruitment and selection is its core business, but its field of expertise also includes skills management, temporary HR support, coaching and assessment or development centre. The firm is able to call on the services of a number of international partnerships, and is therefore also in a position to provide assistance for clients far outside of our own borders.

Over a two-year period, the company grew from the four people who started working together in a Belgian office, to an international business with two offices.

In ’04, it started to work intensively on the Central and Eastern European market and closed its first partnership deal with local partners on filling job requirements for international clients. The company is now working on 15 search assignments in different European countries, and in ’06, created a branch in Warsaw.

Cross starts from the conviction that 10% of the jobs make all the difference in your company. Working together with its clients, it identifies the different key positions and provide the staff that have the skills, the potential and above all the personality to help define the success of its clients.
