China to order up to 150 Airbus jets during Sarkozy visit: Report

China will announce the order of up to 150 Airbus aircraft, including 100 of its short-haul A320 planes, during the upcoming visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

PARIS: China will announce the order of up to 150 Airbus aircraft, including 100 of its short-haul A320 planes, during the upcoming visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, a newspaper reported on Friday.

Chinese airlines are also interested in the long-haul A330 family of planes, it added, quoting a company source.

However no orders of Airbus' recently launched A380 superjumbo aircraft are likely to be placed despite numerous rumours of interest in the plane, said the report.

Sarkozy begins a three-day state visit to China on Sunday, with some 40 French business chiefs in tow, including Louis Gallois, president of aerospace giant EADS, the parent company of Airbus.
