Winnipeg Stabbing: Blood in the North End pre-dawn street brawl sends five to hospital in knife attack

A violent altercation in Winnipeg's North End resulted in five individuals being hospitalized on Monday(June 2). The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) responded to reports of two people being stabbed outside in the 500 block of Mountain Avenue around 4:00 am.

Officers discovered multiple individuals with injuries upon arrival.

Emergency medical services transported five adults to the hospital. Initially, three were listed in critical condition, and two were in stable condition.


As of the latest update, all five individuals are reported to be in stable condition.

The WPS Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. Authorities have cordoned off the area to conduct a thorough examination of the scene. Police have stated that there is no ongoing risk to public safety, describing the incident as an "isolated incident involving a group of people who were fighting."
