A group member says they were contacted within hours, which deserves credit. Savage was barred from the set, and an investigation immediately started. Savage was fired as the director and executive producer of the series on May 6. The show was renewed for another season. A Disney spokesperson spoke about inappropriate conduct allegations but did not explain anything.

Some days later, it was reported that Savage was self-reflecting and knew he could sometimes be a bit of a problem. Despite everything, Savage has had a lot of support from colleagues and friends from The Wonder Years team.

One woman noted that there had been allegations against Savage before. A costumer in the original "The Wonder Years" sued Fred Savage in 1993 for sexual harassment when she was just 16.

Another case was reported against Savage wherein the allegation was that he struck and shouted at one of the woman employees in "The Grinder" production. She even claimed that he constantly hurled profanities at her and other women. Fox (The Grinder) did not find any evidence of anything wrong, and the case was settled.

Both the cases settled as Savage denied any wrongdoings. Savage has had an excellent career despite those allegations. He has acted and directed. He directed 2 Broke Girls, Modern Family, and The Conners, amongst others.

Women working in the "Wonder Years" reboot suggested that there were two completely different sides to Savage. One was a supportive and charismatic colleague, and the other was an angry and darker alter ego. The women alleged that he could flip his personas instantly and his eyes could go dead.

One woman said he never acted this way in front of executives or actors. They could only see his best and perfect face. However, he showed his darker side to some below-the-line employees who were powerless.
