Watch: Hotel employee goes on rampage at Dominican Republic luxury resort, hurls plates at guests, and grabs knife before attacking co-workers

A chaotic confrontation at a luxury resort in the Dominican Republic has gone viral after videos captured a hotel employee attacking guests, throwing objects across a restaurant and later appearing to grab a knife before security intervened. The unidentified female worker was seen striking a male guest with a plate at a café inside the Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana following an apparent confrontation over an unknown dispute.

In the footage, the employee continued to hurl objects at the guest and his female companion as other guests scrambled for cover while she shouted in Spanish, “What was it you said to me?”

As the couple headed toward the exit, the worker threw what appeared to be a large wooden kitchen accessory that narrowly missed the man before bouncing off a wall.

The outburst escalated further as the worker flipped over a large coffee brewer, nearly pushed two blenders off the counter, and knocked down an oven. A woman could also be heard in the background pleading with the employee to calm down before she picked up another kitchen utensil.

In another video circulating online, the employee appeared to grab a knife while continuing to throw objects from behind the counter. A man filming the incident repeatedly urged her to stop before ducking to avoid another object thrown in his direction.

Following the incident, The Palace Company, which owns Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana, issued a statement on Friday, July 17, saying it had responded immediately after the altercation involving one of its employees and several guests inside one of the resort's restaurants.

According to Deultimominuto, citing the company's statement, the resort operator said that, upon becoming aware of what happened, it activated its internal response protocols, provided assistance to the people involved, and notified the competent authorities to initiate investigations.

“The Palace Company maintains its commitment to offering a safe and quality environment at each of its properties,” the company stated, as quoted by the outlet. The reasons behind the altercation and any actions taken as a result of the investigation have not yet been disclosed by the authorities.
