While details from ESPN's Adam Schefter suggest a one-year deal with a base of $4 million that could reach $6 million with incentives, the true significance of Lockett's arrival lies in the experience and stability he brings to a potentially youthful receiving group.

After a decade of service with the Seattle Seahawks, who drafted him in 2015, Lockett departs the Pacific Northwest with an impressive career resume boasting 661 receptions, 8,594 receiving yards, and 61 touchdowns.


His route-running prowess and reliable hands are expected to provide an immediate boost to the Titans' passing game.

The timing of the signing, on the eve of the draft where the Titans hold the coveted No. 1 overall pick, is particularly intriguing.

During a recent video game livestream, when Tyler was prompted to name his favorite NFL running backs, the former Miami, Incarnate Word, and Washington State standout casually named current Titans Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears.

He then followed that up by listing Titans receivers Treylon Burks and Calvin Ridley when asked about his preferred target.

All signs point towards Tennessee selecting a new franchise quarterback, and the overwhelming expectation is that Cam Ward will be the man chosen to lead the offense.
