“Canadians are always looking for ways to get more value from the purchases they make every day,” said Darryl Jenkins, Executive Vice-President and Chief Development Officer at Canadian Tire Corporation. “By linking Triangle Rewards and WestJet Rewards, our members can now spend once and earn twice, collecting both Canadian Tire Money and WestJet points whether they're shopping for everyday essentials or planning their next trip.”
“Together, WestJet Rewards and Triangle Rewards are making it easier for Canadians to earn more and enjoy greater choice,” added John Weatherill, Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer at WestJet Group. “By enabling members with linked accounts to stack their earn at the stores they know and love, we are getting Canadians closer to their next dream vacation faster.”
How the Triangle Rewards WestJet partnership works
Under the Triangle Rewards–WestJet partnership, linked members earn points on purchases at participating retailers, including Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark’s, Party City, and Atmosphere. The base rate offers one WestJet point for every $2 spent, while cardholders using a Royal Bank of Canada-issued WestJet Mastercard can earn additional bonuses.
The benefits extend to travel bookings as well. Customers who book flights through WestJet’s website or app will earn Canadian Tire Money on top of WestJet points for flights, vacation packages, baggage fees, and seat selection. Those paying with a Triangle credit card can earn higher Canadian Tire Money returns.
Everyday spending turned into travel rewards
The companies said the Triangle Rewards WestJet initiative aims to bridge retail and travel rewards. From purchasing tires and sporting gear to booking flights, linked members can accumulate benefits across both ecosystems. As part of the launch, a selection of FRANK snacks, popular with Canadian Tire shoppers, will also be served complimentary onboard select WestJet flights.
