In a bid to tease the fans and ignite the excitement, Sony on Friday (August 1, 2025) released a new short video of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is the fourth installment of Marvel’s superhero franchise. In the nine-second teaser, a close-up of Spider-Man’s new suit was briefly shown. The video was captioned “something brand new is coming.” It was posted on Aug. 1, which happens to be National Spider-Man Day.

Marvel fans will need to wait another year before “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” the MCU’s next installment. It is set to hit the theaters on July 31, 2026. The latest installment officially comes after Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

After “Spider-Man: No Way Home” ends, there’s a brief scene where Holland is seen swinging through NYC in a new suit that looks a lot like the classic bright red-and-blue version from the comics.

The “Brand New Day” teaser shows a suit with similar sharp colors and bold black outlining, along with subtle black webbing—a clear homage to the original Marvel comic style.

The fourth “Spider-Man” movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Cretton already has MCU experience, having directed 2021’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” That film was known for its wild kung-fu action and strong story, making Cretton a solid pick for Holland’s web-slinging hero.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” will bring back key cast members, including Zendaya as Peter Parker’s girlfriend, M.J. Jones-Watson, and Jacob Batalon as his best friend, Ned Leeds.

There are some major new additions to the cast. Jon Bernthal will play the Punisher, a violent vigilante. He was last seen in Season 1 of “Daredevil: Born Again” and is expected back for Season 2 and a TV special.

Bernthal’s co-star from “The Bear,” Liza Colón-Zayas, is also set to be a part of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” along with “Stranger Things” standout Sadie Sink. Their roles haven’t been revealed yet.
