Sass Jordan cause of death: How did ‘Racine’ singer die after cancelling shows over ‘serious medical condition’?

Montreal-raised rock singer Sass Jordan died at 63 on October 2, 2026, with her family confirming that she passed away ‘peacefully,’ surrounded by loved ones. Sass Jordan’s exact cause of death has not been officially disclosed by her family. However, reports from music journalists and people close to the singer have said Jordan had been battling cancer.

Rock radio personality Eddie Trunk said he had heard that Jordan had been battling cancer. “Hearing that singer Sass Jordan has passed away at just 63 years old. Apparently she had been battling cancer,” Trunk wrote on X. He also remembered Jordan as a “Great talent and very nice person” and recalled seeing Taylor Hawkins play for the first time in her band.



Online music resource and news publication site Sleazeroxx in their reporting, also said she died ‘after a battle with cancer.’

The official announcement on Jordan’s social media accounts did not mention cancer or provide a specific cause of death. Her family said she had “crossed over to the other side” and described her as an “inimitable force of nature” and an “irreplaceable being of light and joy.”

Jordan had stepped away from her professional commitments in last month after her team announced that she was dealing with a “serious medical condition.” Her remaining performances for 2026 were canceled, but no details about the condition were given at the time.

Good For The Soll Ingersoll's Music Festival, where Jordan was known to friends and fans, wrote in a facebook post: “Absolutely devastated to learn our good friend Sass Jordan has passed away. RIP TAKE THE HIGH ROAD EASY”

American rock singer Jeff Scott Soto said he was “Gutted to hear the wonderful Sass Jordan has passed at the young age of 63,” adding that she was “a very talented woman and artist.”
