Experts say managing nighttime pain often requires addressing both body and mind. Good sleep habits, relaxation techniques, regular exercise, stress management, and psychological therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) have all been shown to reduce pain intensity in many people. As research continues, psychologists are gaining a deeper understanding of how thoughts, emotions, sleep, and biology work together to shape the experience of pain, especially after dark.
