Officials said that the deceased victim was identified as Alinur Mohamed Mussa, 38. He died of gunshot wounds. An autopsy report has revealed that his death is being investigated as a homicide. According to CTV News, the shooting came to light after officers were called to the area of 109 Street and 166 Avenue at 1:45 p.m. following reports of gunshots.
After officers arrived at the scene, Mussa was found injured at the scene and was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds. In September 2025, a man who goes by the same name was acquitted in a deadly shooting at a party at the Duggan Community Hall in 2021, CTV News reported. That same person also faced firearms charges linked with a shooting at the Ertale Lounge in 2022.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a second case has surfaced involving a youth who has been placed on a peace bond related to his or her alleged involvement in terrorist activities with the 764 Network. The previous incident occurred a little over two weeks ago, when New Brunswick saw its first youth terrorism peace bond case. In the latest incident, the youth involved cannot be named under youth protection laws.
According to the Government of Canada website, 764 is a “decentralized transnational network of online nihilistic violent extremists” who seek to destroy society through violence and chaos. They target young and marginalized people and groom and extort them to commit violent and sexual acts.
