According to CTV News, the Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating the incident as a homicide. A post-coroner’s autopsy has been ordered. When officers arrived, they discovered an adult male dead inside of a home. “At this current moment, we are still working with family and those involved,” Const. Chris Iden with Waterloo Regional Police told CTV News.
“One of the things that we’re working on is just identifying what took place at the time of the incident.” The cause of death was not determined at the time of filing of this report.
Police step up probe, suspect in custody
Police stepped up the investigation and search operation to track the suspect. They identified and found a suspect near Ardelt Avenue. “Ardelt is not near that [Garden Path Place] area. That was given to us through other information that we were able to obtain,” Iden said, as quoted by CTV News.
A 26-year-old man from Kitchener was taken into custody. According to investigators, the suspect and the deceased victim were known to each other, but police said they’re not related.
