Hockey legend Glenn Hall has passed away at 94. Known as 'Mr. Goalie', Hall set an unbreakable record for consecutive starts. He won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Black Hawks in 1961. Hall's career included numerous accolades and a reputation...

Hall spent 10 of his 18 NHL seasons with the Chicago Black Hawks, won the 1961 Stanley Cup, and retired with 407 wins and 84 shutouts, fourth-most in NHL history. Nicknamed “Mr. Goalie,” Hall set the gold standard for durability and excellence between the pipes.
Rise of Glenn Hall
Born Oct. 3, 1931, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Hall’s path to the NHL took him through junior hockey with the Windsor Spitfires before several seasons in the minors.
He played for the Indianapolis Capitals and the Edmonton Flyers of the Western Hockey League, earning his first NHL call-up during the 1952 Christmas break. Hall made his NHL debut against the Montreal Canadiens on Dec. 27, 1952, before later becoming Detroit’s full-time starter in the 1955–56 season.
According to Yourvaley website, Hall led Chicago to the Stanley Cup in 1961 and later earned playoff MVP honors in 1968 after backstopping St. Louis to the Stanley Cup Final despite a loss to Montreal.
"Glenn Hall was the very definition of what all hockey goaltenders aspire to be. Aptly nicknamed 'Mr. Goalie,' Glenn was sturdy, dependable, and a spectacular talent in net," said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. "
"The National Hockey League family mourns the passing of a legend of the game and sends our heartfelt condolences to Glenn’s children Pat, Lindsay, Tammy, and Leslie as well as the entire Hall family."
Hall often delivered his greatest performances after pregame nerves left him feeling sick to his stomach.
