LEGO’s Nintendo Game Boy set launches this October, pre-order now open
LEGO has revealed its official Game Boy brick set, a 421-piece replica of the 1989 handheld console. Available for pre-order now and launching on October 1, 2025, for $59.99, the set features working buttons, dials, and swappable lenticular screen...

The LEGO Game Boy is a near 1:1 scale replica of Nintendo’s iconic 1989 handheld. Once assembled, the model closely resembles the original console, complete with working buttons, dials, and a Game Pak slot.
Fans can swap in lenticular screen inserts to display scenes from Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, which are also included as brick-built cartridges.
Designed with details in mind
Measuring about 5.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide, the LEGO version captures the device’s original shape and features.
It even includes touches like the on-off switch, volume control, and “Dot Matrix with Stereo Sound” label.
The lenticular screens change images when tilted, simulating scenes from the classic games. One insert replicates the Nintendo logo drop animation seen when powering up the real console, while another shows Link with Marin from Link’s Awakening.
Though the LEGO model doesn’t play actual games, it functions as a detailed and nostalgic display piece.
Built for fans, by fans
The set is aimed at adult collectors and fans of retro gaming. It also includes a display stand and instructions available through both a printed booklet and the LEGO Builder app.
The Game Boy set is part of LEGO’s ongoing partnership with Nintendo, which has previously produced sets based on Super Mario and other franchises. While it won’t replace your childhood console, it might just earn a permanent place on your shelf.
Pre-orders are now live on LEGO’s official website.
