Driver shot dead on Highway 2 near Leduc, Alberta; RCMP seek witnesses as investigation continues

“Shortly after, the truck sped off while the Honda Civic pulled over to the side of the road,” RCMP said in an update. “The investigation revealed a weapon was discharged towards the Honda Civic, resulting in the death of the driver.”
Authorities said the case is now being handled by the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit, which is seeking public assistance to identify the vehicle involved and gather additional evidence.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage from the area to come forward. “If anyone witnessed the incident, or may have dashcam footage, please contact the RCMP,” officials said in the statement.

“The public is advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of transit,” RCMP said. People can find up-to-date information on road closer on the Alberta 511.
Authorities said tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers, either by phone, online, or through the P3 Tips mobile application.
