Chocolate dessert sold at Costco recalled nationwide in Canada for potentially life-threatening allergic reactions - Check the reason and how to get full refund

Costco Canada has issued a nationwide recall of a chocolate dessert after the manufacturer warned that it may contain undeclared nut allergens capable of causing serious health reactions. Costco Canada released a notice on March 3 from manufacturer Mellow Food announcing a voluntary recall of specific lots of Delici Dubai Style Chocolate Mousse. According to the statement, the recall was initiated because the product may contain cashew nuts and macadamia nuts that were not declared on the packaging label.

"These allergens may cause severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reactions in sensitive individuals," read the notice issued on Wednesday.


Undeclared allergens can present significant health risks, particularly for individuals with food allergies. Officials cautioned that consuming the mousse could trigger severe and potentially life-threatening allergic reactions in people who are sensitive to cashews or macadamia nuts. As a result, customers who have allergies or sensitivities to these nuts are strongly advised not to eat the product.

The recalled mousse is packaged in a container that includes six individual servings and carries the Universal Product Code (UPC) 812190020825. The recall affects several lot numbers with best-before dates ranging from February 27, 2026, to March 27, 2026.

Consumers who purchased the affected dessert are encouraged to check the packaging details carefully. If the product matches the recall information and the customer has a nut allergy, it should not be consumed.

Costco Canada said shoppers can return the recalled mousse to any of its warehouse locations for a full refund. The retailer is also urging customers to share the recall notice with others who may have purchased the product to help prevent potential allergic reactions.
