Sass Jordan’s cause of death is unknown; past illness caused show’s cancellation
Sass Jordan’s cause of death is not known, but she recently had some health issues that led to the cancellation of her show. Last month, her representatives announced the cancellation in a media release, stating that she had been advised to step away from all engagements for the rest of 2026.
“Unfortunately, due to a serious medical condition, Sass is currently unable to perform and has been advised to step away from all professional commitments for the remainder of 2026 to focus on her health and recovery,” the statement read, as quoted by Fort Frances Times on September 1.
“As a result, we regret that we need to cancel her remaining scheduled performances for this year. Sass is very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause and greatly appreciates your understanding under these circumstances. Thank you for your patience and consideration,” it adds. She was scheduled to perform on September 16. However, the exact nature of Jordan’s illness was not disclosed.
Who was Sarah Jordon?
Her music career began gaining attention in the late 1980s. Her debut album, Tell Somebody, was released in 1988, with its title track reaching #11 in Canada. It produced several Canadian hits and earned her a Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist the next year.
Jordan reached a new level of success with her 1992 album Racine. The record included some of her most recognized songs, such as Make You a Believer, I Want to Believe, You Don’t Have to Remind Me and Goin’ Back Again.
Make You a Believer also reached the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Billboard named Jordan its top female rock artist of 1992, cementing her place among Canada's leading rock performers.
