A man in Calgary spotted an unusual phenomenon that has left the netizens puzzled and shocked. Our schoolbooks taught us that every living thing needs to breathe to survive and so do trees. A video has recently gone viral that shows a ‘breathing tree.’
The incident was captured on camera by a man, who helped assist hazard trees and has been posted on the ‘Viral Hog’ YouTube channel. After heavy rain and strong winds in Calgary in June, the man had gone to assist hazardous trees when he saw the incredible sight and took pictures of it.
The footage has baffled online users, as many commented, ‘It is creepy and unbelievable.’

Another user was curious to learn more about the phenomenon's history and pondered what had initially created the fracture. It also made them wonder if the tree would survive. The user writes, ‘Wonder if the tree will live ..reminds me of a Rumi poem ‘that in nature does not break ..bends..’ so curious what caused this crack ..forests are known to heave in the wind with Duffy mossy forest floors.’
In actuality, the tree appeared to be breathing because of the wind that was coming through the tree's trunk crack. There have been hundreds of comments and more than 55 lakh views of the video.
