Canada Crime News: A 31‑year‑old Barrie man charged with manslaughter in the November 2024 death of a baby in Innisfil has been granted bail. The man, Anthony Fasullo, was released from jail after a surety posted $6,000 for bail. He faces strict conditions, including a curfew, a ban on owning weapons, and a prohibition against being alone with or caring for a child, as reported by CTV News.

A 26‑year‑old Barrie woman has also been charged in connection with the same incident. She faces charges for failing to provide the necessities of life. The woman and Fasullo were arrested this week following a lengthy investigation into the November 2024 incident.

South Simcoe police said they were called to a home on Algonquin Avenue on Nov. 8, 2024, for a medical emergency. Upon their arrival, officers found a four‑month‑old baby without vital signs. The child was taken first to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie and later transferred to SickKids Hospital in Toronto. The baby died in the hospital on Nov. 10, 2024, from injuries sustained two days earlier.

Following the investigation, the police gathered sufficient evidence to prove several criminal offences and lay multiple charges. On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, several warrants were executed at a Barrie home with the assistance of various police units, resulting in the arrests, according to CTV News. The accused were held in jail pending a bail hearing. The allegations against both accused have not yet been tested in court.
