Authorities in Alberta arrested 49 high-profile fugitives after executing 118 warrants across 34 communities during a coordinated three-day multi-agency operation targeting wanted offenders, officials said.

According to CityNews website, among those arrested were Stephane Beaumont, 43, of Quebec, wanted Canada-wide for allegedly breaching parole, Jordan Winnie, 35, facing charges including assault with a weapon, and Darrell Morin, 63, allegedly linked to thefts targeting oil well lease sites in central Alberta.

According to CTV News website, the operation, led by Alberta Sheriffs in partnership with the RCMP and the Edmonton Police Service, was carried out from March 2 to 4.

“Operations like this demonstrate the strength of collaboration between policing partners across Alberta,” Sgt. Robert Daisley of the RCMP said.

Provincial officials said that in 2025, the Alberta Sheriffs’ Fugitive Apprehension Team executed more than 3,000 warrants and arrested over 650 high-profile fugitives across Alberta.

The Fugitive Apprehension Sheriffs Support Team routinely partners with municipal police and the RCMP on coordinated operations to track down high-priority fugitives across the province.

According to Western Standard website, Public Safety Minister Mike Ellis said the joint operation sends a strong signal to individuals attempting to evade justice.

“This operation sends a clear message to wanted fugitives in Alberta: you cannot outrun the law,”he said. “Whether individuals try to evade justice or ignore court orders, they will be found and held accountable.”
