19-year-old Jeevan Badwal emerges as a key player as Vancouver Whitecaps set new franchise record with a victory over Seattle Sounders
The Vancouver Whitecaps dominated the Seattle Sounders with a 3-0 victory at BC Place, extending their unbeaten streak to a franchise-record 11 MLS matches. Nineteen-year-old Jeevan Badwal's opening goal set the tone, while Seattle's two red cards...

Nineteen-year-old midfielder Jeevan Badwal opened the scoring in the 40th minute. Making only his second MLS start, he redirected a pass from Jean Claude Ngando after a run from Édier Ocampo to beat the goalkeeper
Badwal’s goal marked a milestone. The Surrey-born midfielder advanced through the Whitecaps' academy system and made his professional debut last year.
Things fell further toward Vancouver after the Sounders were reduced to nine players. Nouhou Tolo received a red card in the 52nd minute for denying a clear goalscoring chance to Mathías Laborda. Three minutes later, Jon Bell was also sent off for a tackle on Emmanuel Sabbi
Daniel Ríos increased the lead in the 70th minute with a shot from 20 yards that found the top-left corner. Veteran Damir Kreilach sealed the win in the 88th minute by converting a penalty after Sabbi was fouled by João Paulo.
Seattle registered more possession (53.8% to Vancouver's 46.2%) but failed to register a shot on goal from open play. Vancouver, despite facing shortages due to international absences and illness, maintained control and sharpness on the field.
With the win, Vancouver moves to 10–1–5 (35 points), leading the Western Conference. The Sounders fall to 7–6–5 (26 points) and remain fourth in the standings
Up next, Vancouver travels to Columbus on June 14, and Seattle prepares to head to Brazil for the Club World Cup, set to begin next week.
