Volkswagen, Chrysler, GM to recall defective vehicles in China

The recall will start on December 31, 2014. The affected 80 General Motors Cadillac Escalade were manufactured between May 10, 2011 and May 13, 2011.

Volkswagen, Chrysler, GM to recall defective vehicles in China
BEIJING: Volkswagen, Chrysler and General Motors are recalling defective vehicles in China following a directive from the country's top quality watchdog.

Those recalled included 112 Volkswagen Beatles 2.0T, 3,369 Chrysler Grand Cherokee and 80 General Motors Cadillac Escalade, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said in a statement.

The recall will start on December 31, 2014. The affected 80 General Motors Cadillac Escalade were manufactured between May 10, 2011 and May 13, 2011.

The automakers will repair the faulty components free of charge, state-run Xinhua news agency quoted the statement as saying.
