SunEdison Inc. will cut solar development by 20 per cent as part of a plan to reduce costs after its share value plunged 70 per cent.

The company had planned to double solar installations to as much as 4.5 gigawatts next year, Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Chatila said on a conference call Wednesday.
