Construction began in September 2023, and within just 20 months, the site transformed into a modern industrial campus featuring six state-of-the-art plants. A soft inauguration took place in June 2025, followed by the official launch on 14 November 2025, marking the start of full-scale production.
The facility produces next-generation technologies, including data centre generators, wind turbine generators, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV motors, controllers, chargers, and high-efficiency motors and drives for industrial and commercial applications. With The Orchard Hub, Nidec strengthens its role in India’s energy transition towards electrification.

Girish D Kulkarni, Country Managing Director of Nidec Motion & Energy India, described the inauguration as a defining moment for the company’s Indian operations. “We are extremely proud to see The Orchard Hub officially go live with production today. What began as a bold vision nearly two years ago has now culminated in a world-class facility that not only manufactures but also innovates for the future. The Orchard Hub stands as a testament to our belief that India is central to the next phase of global manufacturing. This is a truly exciting moment for all of us in India, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our dedicated teams whose relentless efforts made this vision a reality, and to the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka for their steadfast support throughout this journey,” he said.
The site currently employs over 350 people, with plans to create an additional 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in the coming years, further strengthening local industry and the regional economy.
More than just a manufacturing facility, the Orchard Hub represents industrial transformation — where global expertise meets local ambition to power a cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive future.
