ATHENS: Greece will pay a 340 million euro tranche to the International Monetary Fund as scheduled on Friday, a government official told Reuters -- the second part of a 1.5 billion euro loan installment due this month.

"Everything is set, the payment will go out later today," the official said.

Greece, which is locked in talks with its international partners to try to renegotiate its bailout programme, handed over 310 million euros to the IMF on March 6. After Friday's instalment, it has to pay some 580 million on March 16 and about 350 million on March 20.
