Chinese economy undergoing course correction: Ambassador to India
PANAJI: China's economic slowdown could be attributed to the fact that the country was undergoing course correction as it sought to move from a quantitative economy to a more qualitative one, its Ambassador to India Le Yucheng said.

Yucheng, was here today along with officials of the China India Business, Investment and Incubation Centre to explore possibilities of cooperation between Goan businesses and Chinese ones for mutual business growth.

He said that China was keen to continue to its growth, albeit keeping environmental degradation at a minimum.

"We want that we have a healthy economy. It's important to not only increase quantity, but to improve quality. So we have limited factories polluting the environment," Yucheng said.

"We are taking strong measures to combat air pollution. This year, the sky is much cleaner and better. This is on account of the government's moves aimed at cleaner air like moving out polluting factories reducing cars and other such moves," he added.

The Ambassador also expressed eagerness to improve business ties between India's west coast and China with the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which hosted the delegation, keen to see Chinese investments in the coastal state.
