BEIJING: China and Pakistan have held a forum in to discuss cooperation on the US$ 46 billion economic corridor between the two nations that passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

More than 300 officials and delegates from companies, think tanks and social organisations of the two countries attended the first China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Forum held in the oil-rich city of Karamay in Xinjiang province.

The two-day event featured six sub-forums on topics including city-to-city and industrial cooperation and youth exchange, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The project linking Pakistan's Gwadar Port to China's Xinjiang with highways, railways and pipelines, is among the six economic corridors crucial to China's Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road.
