BRICS Summit: Looking forward to outcome of summit, says US
WASHINGTON: The US is looking forward to the outcome of the New Delhi summit of heads of states from members of BRICS, a grouping of developing nations comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

"We obviously look forward to hearing the outcomes of the BRICS country summit. I don't think we're going to prejudge them before they've had their meeting," State Department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland, told reporters.

Nuland refrained from commenting on new initiatives of BRICS including a development bank and a stock exchange.

"We would look at it after they launch it," she said. On questions of discussions on Iran by BRICS leaders, she said the message of the United States has been consistent.

"We work very closely with Russia and China in the P-5 plus one process, so they're very up-to-date on our policy with regard to Iran," she said. "With regard to Brazil and India our message there is to continue to reduce dependence on Iranian crude," Nuland said.
