BP says $2 billion spent on oil spill

LONDON: BP has spent about $2 billion in its response to the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the company announced on Monday in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.

The costs to date included efforts at containment, relief well drilling, grants to the US southern Gulf coast states, claims paid and federal costs, the company said.
