Boeing profit falls 15% in first quarter

US aerospace giant Boeing on Wednesday announced a drop in 2010 first quarter profits of 519 million dollars, down 101 million dollars from the same period last year.

WASHINGTON: US aerospace giant Boeing on Wednesday announced a drop in 2010 first quarter profits of 519 million dollars, down 101 million dollars from the same period last year.

"With clear progress on the 787 and 747-8, solid financial performance and marked improvement in our customer outlook, we continue to draw on the positive momentum we saw at the end of 2009," said Boeing Chairman Jim McNerney in a statement.
