UFC fans and media personalities are calling for advertising reforms following the promotion's upcoming move from ESPN Plus to Paramount Plus under a new $7.7 billion deal that will eliminate the pay-per-view model.

Combat sports journalist Damon Martin voiced frustrations about repetitive commercials during UFC 319 coverage on ESPN Plus, highlighting viewer dissatisfaction with the current broadcast experience.

"I have one request under this new Paramount+ deal with UFC …. Can you PLEASE play more than 2 commercials during a 5 or 6 hour broadcast? I swear I see the same commercials over and over and over again. It's like Groundhog Day from hell," Martin wrote on X.

Fan requests for UFC Paramount Plus broadcasting

UFC fans responded to Martin's comments with additional suggestions for improving the viewing experience when the promotion transitions to Paramount Plus. Multiple viewers expressed desire for alternative content during commercial breaks.

"Better yet, let us watch all the walkouts like we used to and do away with commercials!" one fan suggested, requesting return of fighter walkout coverage instead of advertisements.

Other fans proposed showing arena atmosphere during breaks rather than commercial content. "Better yet, at the very least play the crowd noise or something not a commercial break screen," another viewer commented.

Current ESPN Plus experience draws criticism

Fans described the current UFC viewing experience on ESPN Plus as problematic, with one stating "It's awful." Several viewers suggested improvements similar to WWE's Netflix presentation approach.

"Also, play some music on the 'we'll be right back screen' I can't stand the silence," one fan requested, seeking audio improvements during broadcast interruptions.

Some viewers proposed compromise solutions regarding advertising. "I'd be good with a banner during the commercials," one fan stated, suggesting alternative advertisement placement methods.

Technical factors behind advertisement issues

Certain fans defended the UFC organization, explaining that commercial content varies based on geographic targeting systems. "It's not the app my man. It's geo based targeting," one viewer commented, attributing repetitive advertisements to regional broadcasting protocols.

Additional requests emerged for commentary options, with one fan stating: "Please also add a no-commentary feed option."
