“It is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December,” the statement read.
The family also confirmed that funeral arrangements would be kept private. “The funeral will be a private event, to be held on Friday 19th December with close family and friends. The family requests privacy at this very difficult time and will be making no further statements.”
Her co-star, Bridie Carter, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute. “This is the most difficult post,” Bridie began, re-sharing Georgia’s post about Rachal’s passing.

Who was Rachael Carpani?
Rachael Anna-Maie Carpani (born 24 August 1980) is an Australian actress best known for her role as Jodi Fountain on the long-running television drama McLeod’s Daughters.
Carpani rose to prominence through her portrayal of Jodi Fountain, a role she played on McLeod’s Daughters from 2001 to 2009. Her performance on the series earned her widespread recognition and established her as one of the show’s most popular cast members. She received two Logie Award nominations in 2007, including a Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress and a nomination for the Gold Logie.
Beyond McLeod’s Daughters, Carpani appeared in the film Hating Alison Ashley, which starred Delta Goodrem, and had roles in television series including All Saints. She attended The Hills Grammar School alongside Goodrem. Carpani remains best known for her portrayal of Jodi Fountain, a role that defined her career and earned her critical and popular acclaim in Australian television.
