"Paige meant everything to us," Natalie Greco, Paige's mother said in a statement released by Paralympics Australia on behalf of the family. "Her kindness, her determination, and her warmth touched our family every single day. She brought so much joy and pride into our lives, and the pain of her passing is something we will carry forever.
"While we are devastated by her loss, we are incredibly proud of the person she was and the way she represented Australia... We are grieving deeply and ask for privacy, time, and space to navigate this overwhelming loss."
Paige, who lived with cerebral palsy affecting the right side of her body, was honored with the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2022 for her contributions to sport. A four-time world champion, she also earned recognition as Cycling Australia’s Para Female Track Cyclist of the Year in 2019, highlighting her exceptional talent and impact on the Para-cycling community.
Greco also claimed two bronze medals at the Games in the C1-3 Road Race and Time Trial. A four-time world championship gold medallist, she added another bronze at the 2025 Para-cycling Road World Championships in Belgium earlier this year.
AusCycling CEO Marne Fechner said Paige's passing has left the cycling community 'devastated' and in shock.
"Paige was an extraordinary athlete who achieved outstanding accomplishments at the highest levels of our sport. Much more than that, she touched the lives of everyone around her with her positive spirit and courageous outlook.
