NSW Crime: Teenager arrested and charged after alleged hit-and-run leaves woman fighting for life on NSW Mid-North-Coast; probe on

NSW Crime News: A teenage boy has been charged after an alleged hit-and-run incident left a woman fighting for her life on the NSW Mid-North Coast. Following the incident, emergency services were called to James Street in Glenreagh, about 30 km from Coffs Harbour, late on Sunday (March 22, 2026) night, where they found a 21-year-old woman had been hit by a car, as reported by 9News.

Police sprung into action and arrested a 17-year-old boy at a house on James Street on Sunday. He was taken to the Coffs Harbour Police Station for questioning.

According to 9News, the woman was treated by paramedics for serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.


The boy was charged with multiple offences, including failing to stop and assist afterwards and causing grievous bodily harm. 9 News reported that he was refused bail and will appear in a children's court today.

As the investigation into the incident continues, police are appealing to the public for any information or video footage that may have recorded the suspected hit-and-run, asking witnesses to come forward or reach out to Crime Stoppers.
