NSW Crime News: Man arrested after two bodies found at Gurranang property two weeks apart

A 32-year-old man was taken into custody after the bodies of two men were found on a property in New South Wales, NSW’s north. The arrest took place on Tuesday (September 29, 2026) at around 12.20pm at a hospital after the bodies were found in the Gurranang home just two weeks apart, as reported by 9News. The incident came to light after police were called to Summerland Way at about 3pm on September 13, 2026, following the discovery of a body. According to 9News, the body was believed to be that of a 79-year-old. It was found inside the home.

Officers returned to the Summerland Way property on Monday afternoon (September 28, 2026) to make more enquiries about the first death, only to find another body inside a shed, the news outlet reported. Another crime was set up as police officers sought to find out what exactly happened to the man believed to be 59 years old. An investigation has been launched into the suspicious deaths, and homicide detectives have formed Strike Force Faneel. The 32-year-old suspect was taken to Grafton Police Station for questioning.

Meanwhile, in another incident, police in Sydney’s south-west launched an operation after a brazen daylight shooting occurred in Liverpool. According to 9News, the details pertaining to the incident emerged after emergency services were called to a Charles Street unit block around 1pm on Tuesday (September 29, 2026), where a 32-year-old man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the leg.


Paramedics treated him at the scene, and he was transported to the hospital. There was no update regarding his condition at the time of filing of this report. According to the news outlet, heavily armed tactical officers and a BearCat armoured vehicle surrounded the apartment building. As police continued to investigate the circumstances, there was no clarity on whether the shooter was inside or on the run. The area remained active at the time of reporting.
