Jamie Dunn, a popular voice-over artist, puppeteer and comedian, died at the age of 75. He was a beloved Aussie TV fixture as the man behind the iconic puppet Agro. He was also a popular radio host. He died at his home in Imbil, on the Sunshine Coast, on Saturday (March 7, 2026) in the company of his wife Maree, as reported by The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald. The cause and manner of death were not revealed at the time of filing of this report.

As an entertainer, Dunn also enjoyed a successful career in radio across several networks. He was an original member of the B105 Morning Crew alongside co-hosts Donna Lynch and Ian Skippen when the station launched on the FM band in 1990.

Dunn began his entertainment career in the 1960s as a drummer in the band The Platter Pushers, according to ABC Australia. He became a fixture on Australian television as the voice and puppeteer for Agro's Cartoon Connection, Channel Seven's Super Saturday, The Super Sunday Show and Wombat, according to 9News.


Agro's Cartoon Connection featured the cheeky and mischievous puppet and aired weekday mornings on the Seven Network between 1990 and 1997. The children’s programme, which gained popularity among the masses, combined cartoons and live studio segments, featuring the beloved Argo puppet.

He also wrote and co-produced Agro's Christmas Story in 1988 and A Very Agro Christmas in 1989. Jamie Dunn played dual roles on the show, with Agro also getting airtime. Through his radio work, Dunn raised funds for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation. In 2006, he joined Zinc FM on the Sunshine Coast.

Dunn and Agro presented the Zinc Morning Zoo alongside co-hosts Ian Calder and Courtney Burns. He also served as an ambassador for Wildlife Warriors, the conservation organisation founded by Steve Irwin and Terri Irwin, according to 9News.

From 2009 to 2010, Dunn moved to 4BC in Brisbane to present a talkback radio show. Nearly a decade later, he returned to radio to host a Saturday morning programme on the Triple M network.
