Good Charlotte to return to Australia in 2026 after 8-year hiatus: American rock band to perform in 5 cities across Australia and New Zealand; ticket sales to start on this date

American rock band Good Charlotte has officially confirmed they are set to perform in Australia and New Zealand. During the tour, the rock band will be joined by fellow rock band from the US, Yellowcard, who just released their first album since 2016, Better Days, and Australia’s own Kisschasy, according to Rolling Stone.

The trip will be Good Charlotte’s first run of Australia since they featured on the 2018 Download Festival lineup. The US band is set to return to New Zealand for the first time since 2017. The announcement from the band came on Monday (October 13, 2025) after billboards were spotted around the country. The band has announced arena shows in Perth, Brisbane, Bendigo, Sydney, and Auckland.

“Australia is such a special place to Good Charlotte and to me personally; it feels like a home away from home in many ways, and we can’t wait to head back there for some big shows,” Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden said, as quoted by Rolling Stone. “It’s been far too long since we’ve spent time with our Aussie fans; we’re all in for a big treat.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ to promote their latest album, Motel Du Cap—the US band’s first album in seven years—Madden confirmed that they are planning to travel Australia in early 2026 for arena shows around the country.

“We were trying to surprise dates this year, but it’s been too hard with something with the venues or something,” Madden revealed.

“I don’t know. It’s been too hard to get dates, whatever the complications have been this year, because we wanted to drop [the dates] around when the record comes. I think it’ll be arena shows, so it’s harder to move those things around. So I think we’re going to come as quickly as we can at the top of ’26.” That’s what we’re talking about right now.”

Motel Du Cap is the band’s first full-length release since 2018’s Generation Rx. In 2020, Good Charlotte released the single “Last December.”

Good Charlotte tour tickets

The tickets will go on sale from October 20, 2025 (Monday) from 11 AM for the general public. Billboards have been spotted around the country teasing a tour announcement, with one reading, “Sydney, this song is dedicated to every kid who ever got picked last in gym class”, a reference to their 2000-released debut single, “Little Things,” according to Rolling Stone.
