Foo Fighters have officially revealed a seven-show Australian stadium tour scheduled for 2026, marking one of their biggest returns to the country in years. The tour will see the rock legends perform across major Australian cities in November, giving fans multiple chances to experience their high-energy live shows. Dates and venues have been announced, with performances set in some of Australia’s largest stadiums. The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, with tickets, which are up for sale from February 25, expected to sell fast. The tour adds to the band’s packed global schedule and reinforces their strong connection with Australian audiences.

The Take Cover Tour begins in Brisbane on November 5, followed by shows in Townsville on November 7, Sydney on November 10, Newcastle on November 12, Melbourne on November 14, and Adelaide on November 17. After performing two dates (November 19 and 22) in New Zealand, the band will head back to Australia to wrap up the tour with a stadium show in Perth on January 25. Other than Foo Fighters, a host of Australian acts will fill the special guest slots, including Full Flower Moon Band, The Buoys, and The Bel-Air Lip Bombs.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and his bandmates - guitarists Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett, bassist Nate Mendel, keyboardist Rami Jaffee, and newly appointed drummer Ilan Rubin - are known for delivering marathon shows that often run well over two hours, packed with the band’s biggest hits and fan favorites.

According to ABC News, Foo Fighters have shared a long-running connection with Australia, visiting the country 15 times since their debut trip in 1995, when they played at the Summersault Festival. Before their stop in Launceston, the band last toured mainland Australia in 2023, following an earlier run of shows in 2018.

In 2022, Foo Fighters performed a special fly-in, fly-out concert in Geelong. The show later gained deeper meaning as it became one of the final performances to feature longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died at the age of 50 just weeks later, reported ABC News.

According to ABC News, Hawkins was replaced in 2023 by prolific drummer Josh Freese, though his time with the band was short-lived. In September 2025, Freese was replaced by Ilan Rubin from Nine Inch Nails. The move effectively marked a drummer swap, with Freese returning to Nine Inch Nails for the first time in 17 years.
