The car driver, who was driving a Holden Cruze sedan, was charged and rushed to hospital after allegedly striking the group of motorbike riders. Following the road rage incident, the group allegedly chased him down.
The 49-year-old man drove away but was followed by several dirt bike riders and was allegedly assaulted at a nearby Speedway petrol station in Bass Hill, as reported by 9News. Police were informed that a Holden Cruze sedan mowed down a group of motorbike riders at about 8:30 pm.
The news outlet also reported that the driver allegedly left the petrol station and drove to a nearby shopping centre car park, where he crashed into a fire hydrant. He then fled before officers arrived, police said.
The accused was arrested on Saturday (April 11, 2026) at an address in Bass Hill and taken to Bankstown Hospital under police guard for treatment of facial injuries and a possible fractured arm, according to 9News. He has been charged with predatory driving and not giving particulars to the owner of damaged property. He remains under police guard in hospital and will appear before Bail Division Court on Sunday (April 12, 2026).
Video of incident surfaces
There was also a separate video doing rounds on social media showing the riders circling the man's car. One of the riders is also seen repeatedly jumping on the hood of the car.
