Authorities also issued a public advisory through social media. “A police operation is underway at an education facility on Narellan Road, Campbelltown,” an official post to X read. “The public are urged to avoid the area and follow all police directions.”
In an earlier statement, NSW Police said the facility had been secured as investigations continued. “Police have reviewed CCTV holdings and are continuing to make inquiries as to where the two persons went,” the statement reads.
The campus remained under lockdown as officers conducted safety checks across the site. Police said they were moving from building to building and inspecting classrooms to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Families of students have been asked to collect them from a designated pickup point. According to police, the pickup location has been set at the roundabout on William Downes Avenue near the Narellan Road exit to the campus.
The lockdown was still in place around 6:30 pm as officers continued searching buildings and attempting to locate the two individuals reported to have been acting suspiciously.
