After enquiries were conducted, at about 9.40pm two boys, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on Glenayr Avenue at Bondi Beach and taken to Surry Hills Police Station, according to police.
NSW Police, in a news release, said that officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and found a 54-year-old man with stab wounds to his upper body. Police were told the man became involved in an argument with a boy on an e-bike, which then escalated into a physical confrontation, the release stated.
The accused teenage boy allegedly fled the scene and later returned with another boy who was allegedly armed with a knife, before the pair assaulted the man a second time and left.
The wounded man was treated by police until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and was then taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition. A crime scene was established, and investigations into the incident commenced.
Charges against teenage boys
The 17-year-old boy was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others, possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit and breach of bail, the release added. They were refused bail to appear before the Parramatta Bail Division Court on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
