Bondi Beach shooting: A relative of two victims in the Bondi Beach shooting, which shook Sydney, claiming the lives of at least 15 people and leaving dozens wounded, slammed Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong, saying that they have blood on their hands. Speaking to ABC, Sydney resident Jenny Roytur-Ng said one of her relatives who attended was in a critical condition in hospital, while another relative was unaccounted for. She said that she usually attended the Chanukah by the Sea event each year, but couldn't go yesterday.

While speaking to ABC, Roytur-Ng chose not to name her family members publicly. "We warned everyone, and the blood of my family is on Albanese and Penny Wong's hands," she told ABC. "They did nothing. They sympathised with people who chanted death on the streets for two years. This is the result," she added.

The resident also said that a lot of Jewish people at Sunday's event are families of former Soviet Union background, with many originating from parts of Ukraine.

Albanese calls Bondi Beach shooting ‘an act of pure evil’

Albanese convened a cabinet meeting on Monday (December 15, 2025). During the meeting, which came a day after the beach shooting, he said that tougher gun laws were on the agenda. He dubbed the terror attack "an act of pure evil" and an "act of antisemitism", as quoted by ABC.
