Sixth seeds Neal Skupski and Christian Harrison defeated Australia's wildcard pairing of Jason Kubler and Marc Polmans 7-6 (4) 6-4 to capture the Australian Open men's doubles title on Saturday in their first Grand Slam event as a team.
Belgium's Elise Mertens and Chinese partner Zhang Shuai clinched their first Grand Slam women's doubles title as a team Saturday when they downed Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic at the Australian Open. The fourth seeds, in only their seventh event together, were too good for the seventh-seeded Kazakh and Serbian pair on Rod Laver Arena, winning 7-6 (7/4), 6-4.
2026 Australian Open Prize Money
The prize pool for the 2026 Australian Open, the season’s first major, will be AUD $111.5 million, up nearly 16 per cent from 2025, according to ATP Tour. Notably, this is the largest jump in the tournament's history. In 2025, the prize pool was AUD $96.5 million.
The 2026 Australian Open offers substantial prize money across singles, qualifying and doubles events, with equal payouts for men and women at every stage of the tournament. In the men’s and women’s singles main draw, the champion will take home $4,150,000, while the finalist will receive $2,150,000.
Players reaching the semi-finals are set to earn $1,250,000, with quarter-finalists collecting $750,000. A fourth-round (Round of 16) appearance is worth $480,000, while those exiting in the third round (Round of 32) will pocket $327,750. Second-round players (Round of 64) are guaranteed $225,000, and first-round participants (Round of 128) will earn $150,000.
Prize money is also on offer in the singles qualifying competition for both men and women. Players who reach the final qualifying round (Round of 32) will receive $83,500, while those eliminated in the second qualifying round (Round of 64) will earn $57,000. First-round qualifying exits (Round of 128) are assured $40,500.
