ArcelorMittal completes acquisition of 3 mines in Russia

World's biggest steelmaker ArcelorMittal on Thursday said it has completed the acquisition of three coal mines and associated assets in Russia for $18 million.

NEW DELHI: World's biggest steelmaker ArcelorMittal on Thursday said it has completed the acquisition of three coal mines and associated assets in Russia for $18 million.

The company has acquired a 97.9 per cent stake in Berezovskya mine together with a 99.46 per cent equity in Pervomsyskaya mine from Severstal in that country's Kemerovo region, the company said in a release.

Besides, the steel company has completed 100 per cent acquisition of Anzherskoyo mine in the same region.

Production from these mines, which have a combined total reserve of 140 million tons, was 3.14 million tons last year, it added.
