European plane maker Airbus faces fresh delays in its A400M military transport plane project, a German press report said on Monday.

FRANKFURT: European plane maker Airbus faces fresh delays in its A400M military transport plane project, a German press report said on Monday.

The magazine Wirtschaftswoche, which did not identify its sources, said that communications problems between French and Spanish partners, as well as cooperation hiccups with sub contractors were responsible for the new delays.
They trouble mainly concerned cabin and cockpit construction and the plane's engines, the magazine said, adding that the first A400M was nonetheless expected to roll out of its factory in Seville, Spain, within two weeks.

An initial flight was recently pushed back by Airbus from the end of July to the end of August however. The A400M project is currently six to 12 months behind schedule, with delivery of the first aircraft to the French airforce expected in early 2010.
