Airbus eclipses Boeing in orders this year: Report

PARIS: European aircraft manufacturer Airbus recorded 11 net orders in the first five months of the year, beating US rival Boeing, which recorded none, reports from both companies showed on Friday.

Airbus, part of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), said it had received 32 orders overall from Januaru 1 to May 31, offset by 21 cancellations, leaving a net total of 11.

Boeing said that from January 1 to June 2 it had recorded 65 orders and 65 cancellations.
