It stated that COCOMI "without the slightest hesitation accused the Zo people who defended their land, their dignity and their very existence under India as being indoctrinated secessionists. The same is utterly baseless; and if the same be ascertained based on recent history, the Meitei secessionist movement will only be the logical answer. That, the Zo people, both the civilians as well as the banned groups, have not for once propagated nor promoted a separatist agenda."
Contrary to the communally-tainted allegations put forth by COCOMI, the influx of foreign nationals entering the Zo ancestral lands in India from war-torn Myanmar is effectively dealt with by the security agencies, ZCSC said.
It is a fact that such foreign nationals are booked under relevant provisions of law, jailed, and deported in the recent past, it added.
"That, while there are media reports about the alleged relationships between Meitei secessionist groups and Chinese intelligence, the unfounded allegations blaming the Zo ethnic people as fantasized by COCOMI are most ridiculous".
