PM Modi inaugurated Hyderabad-based space startup Skyroot’s Infinity Campus via video conference on Thursday.

"Our youth power, with its innovation, risk-taking ability and entrepreneurship, is reaching new heights," the prime minister said while addressing the event. He further noted that India now stands with the third largest startup eco-system in the world.

"Today the country is witnessing an unprecedented opportunity in the space sector. Today, the private sector is taking a major leap in India's space ecosystem. Skyroot's Infinity Campus is a reflection of India's new thinking, innovation, and most importantly, youth power. The innovation, risk-taking ability, and entrepreneurship of our youth are reaching new heights today," he added.


PM Modi further said that India’s progress has been driven “not by wealth, but by willpower,” crediting ISRO for steering the country’s space ambitions for decades. With the global space industry evolving rapidly, he said, India has responded with “historic reforms,” including a new space policy designed to bring startups and private industry into the heart of innovation.

PM Modi also reiterated the Centre's decision to open up the nuclear sector to private players that. "We'll open up nuclear sector to private sector soon... This will strengthen opportunities in small modular and advance reactors and nuclear innovations."

The prime minister also unveiled the homegrown aerospace company's first orbital rocket, Vikram-I, which has the capability to launch satellites into orbit.

The state-of-the-art facility, spread across roughly 200,000 square feet, provides workspace for designing, developing, integrating and testing multiple launch vehicles, with the capacity to build one orbital rocket every month.
