The Uttar Pradesh government has blacklisted Gujarat-based Edutest Solutions, assigned to conduct the UP Police constable recruitment examination, after the exam paper got leaked and the exam was cancelled in February. The owner is absconding. The firm will now not be hired by any government department for recruitment purposes.

The move comes even as the furore peaks over the faulty conduct of competitive examinations like NEET, and the cancellation of UGC-Net by the government on Wednesday.

UP STF is learnt to have sent multiple notices to the owner of Edutest, Vineet Arya, but he has not appeared before the investigators. STF sources said Arya fled to the United States and has not returned to evade legal action against him soon after the case was handed over to the team.

Edutest has been under the scanner of STF as it was from the company’s warehouse that the leak took place. “The government pays ₹40 for each paper to these agencies, out of which ₹37 is for security. If a breach has taken place, the company is answerable,” an STF source said, adding while cops have completed their probe, Arya’s arrival is awaited.
