The Yashobhoomi conference complex in Dwarka is all set to be commissioned this October, marking a significant milestone in India's pursuit of world-class exhibition and convention facilities. Officials have announced that a Korean operator has been selected to manage the exhibition halls and convention center under a revenue-sharing model. The inauguration of the first phase of this ambitious project took place last Sunday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the ceremony.

Over the next two years, Yashobhoomi is poised to host more than 100 exhibitions and over 100 conventions, covering a wide range of sectors, including digital innovation, hospitality, entertainment, healthcare, automobile, infrastructure, and travel and tourism.

Sumita Dawra, special secretary at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), confirmed, "A Korean operator was selected through international bidding to run the complex on a revenue-sharing model. The commissioning date for Yashobhoomi is October 1."

Described as India's largest convention and exhibition center by Rajesh Kumar Singh, secretary of DPIIT, Yashobhoomi spans a vast 221 acres and was constructed at a cost of Rs 25,000 crore. The first phase of the project boasts two impressive exhibition halls, a convention center with an impressive capacity of 11,000 people, and an underground parking facility capable of accommodating over 3,000 cars.

The two exhibition halls, measuring 32,000 and 28,000 square meters respectively, offer the flexibility to be converted into eight smaller halls. Notably, the convention center's main auditorium features automated retractable seating for up to 6,000 attendees. Officials have also highlighted the presence of a bullet-proof area near the auditorium designed to ensure the security of VVIPs.

The project's second phase promises even more additions, including a multi-purpose arena, three additional exhibition halls, eight hotels, nine grade A offices, three retail spaces, and one service apartment.

Strategically located approximately 10 kilometers from the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Yashobhoomi enjoys convenient connectivity through the Urban Extension Road and Dwarka Expressway. Furthermore, it offers direct access to the Delhi Metro via the Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector-25 metro station on the Airport Express Line, a station inaugurated by the Prime Minister on Sunday. This accessibility is expected to make Yashobhoomi a hub for business and industry events, further solidifying India's position on the global stage.
